MEET DR. WEDLAKE, YOUR ORAL SURGERY SPECIALIST
Dr. Riley Wedlake was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Montana State University and then attended Tufts University of Dental Medicine where he received his DMD. He then completed the General Practice Residency Program at the University of Utah furthering his dental education and training. Dr. Wedlake practiced as a general dentist in Colorado and then in New York for three years before returning to residency. He decided to pursue his passion for surgery and was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Harlem Hospital Center in New York City.
Dr. Wedlake has a commitment to volunteering. He was a member of the Big Sky Volunteer Ski Patrol at Big Sky Resort in Montana during his undergraduate studies. Dr. Wedlake participated in numerous free clinics throughout dental school. He also ran a free dental clinic for homeless teens and young adults during his final two years of dental school. More recently, he attended a mission trip providing dental care for the remote villagers of Cebadas, Ecuador.
Dr. Wedlake appreciates all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has a particular interest in orthognathic, trauma, TMJ, dentoalveolar and implant surgery as well as anesthesia. He takes pride in providing the highest level of care for his patients and is dedicated to participating in continuing education courses to continue offering the most cutting-edge treatment options. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS), and the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (NYSSOMS). He is also a part-time attending in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harlem Hospital Center.
In his free time, Dr. Wedlake loves spending time with his wife and their two boys. He also enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, fishing, snowboarding, and mountain biking.
